Definition : Wardrobing

Wardrobing is the act of purchasing clothing or accessories with the intention of wearing them once and then returning them for a refund. This deceptive practice, also known as “wardrobe borrowing,” is often done for special occasions or events, such as weddings or parties, in order to avoid the cost of buying a new outfit. However, wardrobing not only goes against the store’s return policy, but it also contributes to the growing issue of waste in the fashion industry. It is a dishonest and unsustainable way of acquiring clothing, and ultimately undermines the value of the items being purchased.
